“The Jewish Schindler” liberates women from sex slavery-Everything is documented.

According to the United Nations, thousands of women and girls have been sold into sex slavery, or taken as brides by Islamic State fighters, since ISIS started fighting in northern Iraq.

People who were able to escape from slavery told touchy stories about their lives.

Independent reports that women who are captured by Isis and kept as slaves endure more than just sexual violence…

“My most touching liberation was the rescue of Nihad Barakat Shamo Alawsi…”

Nihad Barakat Shamo Alawsi

Nihad Barakat Shamo Alawsi was just 15 when Islamic State militants seized the Yazidi town of Sinjar in northwest Iraq.

The teenager was abducted along with 27 members of her family and thousands of civilians.

She was raped and beaten for weeks in Mosul and was then sold as a sex slave.

After all this, she was able to find a way out of the hellish ISIS regime with the help of the CYCI organization and its founder, Steve Maman.

“My most touching liberation was the rescue of Nihad Barakat Shamo Alawsi. Her story gained world media attention”—Steve Maman.

Steve Maman-CYCI (The Liberation of Christian and Yazidi Children of Iraq)

He’s being called a “Jewish Schindler”—a modern day rescuer of young women and girls, in Iraq, who’ve been taken by ISIS.

Steve Maman is the Montreal businessman behind a project called the Liberation of Christian and Yazidi Children of Iraq, or CYCI.

Steve Maman has shared with us the recap of actions since the CYCI was established.

June to November, 2015

“ We liberated 140 Yazidis sex slaves from the Isis territory. We never paid ransoms.

We had a team inside Mosul that took the girls out. We have assisted 3 Christian families to leave Kurdistan to relocate to Canada and the USA on private sponsorship programs.

The world knows about the events happenning, about the misery of Yezidis, Christians and Muslims in the Middle East…

Refugees, slaves

November 2015 to November 2016

We have made distributions in Kurdistan to 25000 Christians and Yazidis:
-jackets, boots, socks,clothing, winter hats;

-food, flour, oil, rice, sugar; medical supplies;
-heaters, kerosene; all of which were distributed among 7000 people.

January 2016 to December 2016—Greece.
Another part of CYCI team worked in Greece with Yazidis.

We started the campaign called: “The Yazidi exodus mission from Lesvos Greece to Germany”.

Refugees Greece

“We took out 2311 Yazidis from Lesvos and assisted in transferring them to Germany.

We paid everything from train, bus, ferry boat tickets to food rations, for everyone. We then proceeded to the Macedonia border where 20000 refugees were amassed, as we had heard of the Yazidis being beaten and badly treated there.

“There were 1500 Yazidis in tents in the middle of 20000 Syrians and others. Rapes, beatings and fights were every day.”

“The government of Greece then contacted us at the border. We pleaded with them to remove the Yazidis because of the rapes, and they agreed.

The camp Petra in Mount Olympus became the Yazidi camp of Greece and we took out all Yazidis. 1200 of them wanted to follow us, and we started the Petra camp, thanks to the government of Greece.”

“This lasted from April 2016 until December and the tents were without heaters, in very cold temperatures. The government then decided it was time to bring the Yazidis to volvi and other cities where they were placed in 3 star hotels.  It was an amazing ending for them. They were very safe and comfortable.”

All of this has granted Steve Maman the title of  “The jewish schindler” amongst the international media and on wikipedia. Steve says that it is a very Honorable title. “I was very much against it at first, but today I accept it with pride. “

“The best thing we ever did during this mission was the documentation.

We documented and took pictures, videos and testimonies of the people and the work we did. All the documented pictures and videos have been published in the official website of the CYCI organization.

Everything is documented with videos and special paperwork with fingerprints and testimonies. This is our work. Nobody can ever take it away or diminish it.”

How did you come up with this idea?

We know that the Jews suffered tremendously from the Holocaust. We lost 6 million people during the Second World War. The world knows about the events happenning, about the misery of Yezidis, Christians and Muslims in the Middle East. And when you see other people suffering, you can feel what is happening to them because the same thing happened to your nation. That is why I wanted to participate in this process and help others. _video about CYCI and slaves.
